Steve Urszenyi was a paramedic in Toronto and a tactical medic with the Ontario Provincial Police, where he was a specialist in SWAT, CBRNE, HUSAR, and public order operations. Steve is also the former commander of the Province of Ontario's disaster medical response and all-hazards emergency management team, EMAT, and is a recipient of the Governor General of Canada EMS Exemplary Service Medal and Bar in recognition of his distinguished service. Steve loves touring on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with his wife, Lynne. They live in Toronto and have two grown children.
Chris Mullen is an accomplished and award-winning author, award-winning teacher, and graduate of Texas A&M University. Chris released the first three books in a new Contemporary Western Mystery series (DEAD LAND, KILL ORDER, HUNTING EL DESPIADADO ~ the CASS CALLAHAN novels) with Wolfpack Publishing in 2024 and has six award-winning books in his ROWDY series with Wise Wolf Books.
Most notably, Rescue (ROWDY 4) and Return (ROWDY 6) have been named 2024 Will Rogers Medallion winners. Dead or Alive (ROWDY 3), won a 2023 Will Rogers Bronze Medallion. Wild and Mean, Sharp and Keen (ROWDY 1), was met with critical acclaim earning the esteemed title of 2023 Independent Press Distinguished Favorite as well as winning the American Fiction Awards/Westerns in 2020. To Catch a Killer (ROWDY 5) was named winner in the 2023 American Fiction Awards/Westerns, further solidifying the series' widespread recognition and appeal.
With an impressive career spanning 23 years in education, Chris was a dedicated teacher in both Kindergarten and PreK, cultivating his passion for storytelling and nurturing young minds. In 2019, Chris received the prestigious Connie Wootton Excellence in Teaching Award, bestowed upon him by the Southwest Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES).
