Asale Angel-Ajani is a writer, professor, and California transplant living in New York City. She is the author of the nonfiction book, Strange Trade, about two Black women who were incarcerated in Italy and the parallels between her own experience as a daughter of an incarcerated father. A Country You Can Leave, is her first novel.
